Charlas de Burlington para el alumnado de 1º, 2º y 3º de la ESO

On Monday, January 16th, Mark, from Burlington Books, visited us to talk to our 1st, 2nd and 3rd ESO students about different topics related to English culture, such as “Sherlock Holmes” and “Ghost and Legends”. They enjoyed learning new things about the detective, the world of crime in literature and about London, while some of them demonstrated their knowledge by participating in a kind of contest like Who Wants to be a Millionaire? They were even able to phone the speaker’s lovely mother, who helped them choose the correct answer.
The 1st and 2nd graders improved their vocabulary on scary things, like ghosts, vampires, witches, haunted houses … and discovered that Mark has a phobia of spiders. And he also told them about Halloween.
It was a very interesting activity, and we are sure that everyone learned something new. Some of them even won prizes, such as pens and notebooks!
